Young Friars of Spain, Portugal Gather

ROME –  Fraternitas, the monthly publication of the Order of Friars Minor,  reports in its current issue that  the young friars of Spain and Portugal gathered with Fr. Giacomo Bini in Madrid, Spain, in April to share a reflection on challenges and proposal that need to be “faced based on the charism and reality of the Friar  Minor.”

As followup to the message of last fall’s Extraordinary General Chapter, it was stressed that in order to not lose their joy, the entire Order must return to Emmaus, the place where the disciples, disillusioned and tired, met for the second time with the Risen Lord.

Three elements of being a friar – fraternity, prayer, and evangelization – according to the June 1 Fraternitasarticle, are underlined in this definition.
