WTU Distributes Final ePistle Newsletter

HNP Communications Around the Province

WASHINGTON — With the 43rd and final commencement exercises complete, the Washington Theological Union communications staff produced and distributed the final issue of its ePistle newsletter.

“We give a special salute to all the editors — past and present of the WTU newsletter. We also thank you for allowing us to come into your inboxes each month and share the great things happening at the Union,” wrote communications director Kerry Ann Turner in an editor’s note.

The May 13 issue included a brief report on the May 4 graduation ceremony at Trinity Washington University.

Other updates in the issue include:
• An announcement that all masters and certificate level courses will cease at the end of this month; only the D.Min. program will continue through December 2013. During this time, the WTU’s conference and events center will continue to operate.

• Fr. Steven Payne, OCD, will speak at the Doctor of Ministry Distinguished Scholar Lecture on July 12. The event, beginning at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.

• A new book by Angela Senander, past chair of the systematic and moral theology department at the WTU, will be published later this month. Scandal: The Catholic Church and Public Life is about the church and its mission in light of Vatican II.

• The Roundtable Association of Catholic Diocesan Social Action Directors in Washington is looking for a full-time coordinator to implement the roundtable’s mission of providing professional support to members through education, professional relationships and management development. This full-time position will begin July 2.
