WASHINGTON, D.C. — To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Washington Theological Union (WTU) is going on a pilgrimage to Rome, Feb. 28 to March 10. Province friars are invited along.
Ed McCormack, chair of pastoral studies and WTU Faculty Senate chair, and the Rev. Joe Wimmer, associate professor of sacred scripture, will lead the pilgrimage to Rome, Florence and Assisi.
The trip will explore these religious cities, and include discussion about the history of the Catholic Church and the founding communities of WTU. Each day includes tailored lectures while traveling, and licensed local English-speaking guides and tour escorts.
Accommodations are in three- and four-star superior hotels, with six nights in Rome, and two each in Florence and Assisi.
The cost of the 12-day pilgrimage — $2,495 — includes all breakfasts, some lunches and dinners, hotels, motor coach, tour guides, entrance fees, porterage of one piece of luggage per person at hotels.
