WASHINGTON, D.C. — The 40th graduation of Washington Theological Uniontakes place May 1, in a ceremony held at Trinity Washington University here. Provincial Vicar Dominic Monti, OFM, former WTU professor and chair of the Ecclesiastical History Department, is the speaker.
In other WTU news, the seminary is preparing to celebrate its Festival of the Arts on March 27. The annual tradition gives students, faculty and staff an opportunity to share their gifts of poetry, drama, music and comedy. The celebration also includes prayer and dinner.
News of WTU’s graduation and other events was announced in its e-newsletter, distributed recently by Joe Lontos, the new director of communications. Prior to joining WTU, he was director of communications for the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), where he served as strategic communications counsel for the trade group and industry.
Lontos helped create local communications plans for MHI members to help change consumer perceptions of prefabricated homes. He ensured that MHI’s opinions and comments were included in the media when the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 was signed by both Congress and the President.
Prior to joining MHI, Lontos was a member of Levick Strategic Communications, a communications firm. While at Levick, he kept his clients in the media on matters ranging from economic trends to high-profile legal cases.
