Anthony R. Fedell

1940 – 2003

Fr. Anthony Fedell, OFM, was born on April 12, 1940 in Salamanca, N.Y. He entered St. Joseph’s Seraphic Seminary in 1957 and was received into the Order as Solanus at St. Bonaventure Friary, Paterson, N.J., in 1959. He professed temporary vows one year later, made his solemn profession in 1963, and was ordained in 1966

He was devoted to music, serving as musical director of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Brant Beach, N.J., and St. Elizabeth Parish and Most Precious Blood Parish in Denver. Fr. Anthony was chairperson of the music departments at Holy Name College in Washington, St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, N.Y., and Regis University and St. Thomas Theological Seminary in Denver. For nine years, he directed choirs with the Denver Archdiocesan Chorale.

He died on Dec. 26, 2003 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Paterson, N.J. Fr. Anthony was 63 years old, a professed friar for 43 years, and a priest for 37 years.
