WASHINGTON — Three Holy Name Province friars — Daniel Horan, OFM, Paul Keenan, OFM, and David Phan, OFM — were among the 28 students who graduated May 7 from the Washington Theological Union.
Paul and David received their master’s of divinity while Daniel received a master’s of arts in systematic theology. David will be ordained on May 22 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in New York City.
The graduation festivities began with an 11 a.m. Mass. Commencement began at 2:30 p.m. at the Trinity Washington University’s Chapel, with a graduation address by Fr. James Coriden, JCD, JD, long-time professor of Church law at the union. WTU also honored Fr. John Burkhard, OFM Conv., a former interim president of WTU, as a professor emeritus.
