The visioning and planning committee of the Province met on June 30 in New York City.
The committee reviewed the reports from the friars on the Provincial Days of Renewal and Reflection, as well as the reports from the house chapters. All of the material submitted by the friars will be professionally analyzed, and the friars will receive the results of that analysis. The friars will be asked for their input at every stage of this process.
We will also gather with our local ministries and our partners in ministry to seek their input in a process we are calling “Planning Our Future Together.”
In January and February 2007, the friars will be asked to hold house chapters to reflect on the input of our partners in ministry and to prepare for fraternal gatherings to be held in late February and March. A social analysis of our times, as well as the professional analysis of the data we receive from the friars, will be available as resources for the friars’ reflection.
All of this will be input, as we prepare for our Chapter of Mmats June 5-8 at Siena College. It is our plan that as a Province we will be able to draft a “Vision and Plan for the Future,” as we work toward our 2008 Provincial Chapter.
The Visioning and Planning Timeline is available in the “Friars Only” portion of the Provincial Web site.
The committee is grateful for Dominic Monti‘s great work on the Days of Renewal and Reflection, as well as for the friars’ responses.
The next meeting of the committee will be Sept. 12.
