RINGWOOD, N.J. – Two members of the Province, Edward Burke and Carmel Lluria, both 79, died on Monday, Feb. 26. Services for both priests were held here earlier this week.
Carmel Lluria, shown at left in photo, a professed Franciscan for 56 years and a priest for 51 years, died at Preakness Hospital in Paterson, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at Holy Name Friary, Crotona Chapel in Ringwood.
Edward Burke, a Franciscan for 50 years and a priest for 44 years, died at Holy Name Friary in Ringwood. A Mass of Christian Burial was held this morning at St. Anthony Church in Butler, N.J.
