HNP Communications Friar News

NEW YORK — The Provincial Administration has announced the transfer of two friars from Immaculate Conception Province — Roberto Serrano, OFM, and Jay Arthur Woods, OFM — effective Aug. 31. They joined the Province’s post-novitiate formation program at St. Joseph Friary in Chicago and will be pursuing studies at the Catholic Theological Union.

Roberto, a native of Florida with strong ties to Puerto Rico, first came to know the friars of HNP while at the Franciscan Interprovincial Novitiate in Burlington, Wis. Jay, a native of Massachusetts, became acquainted with Holy Name Province friars by attending Mass and going to confession at St. Anthony Shrine in Boston.

Also, the Provincial Administration confirmed the assignment of George Camacho, OFM, to St. Bernardine of Siena Friary, Loudonville, N.Y., where he has been living since August 2015. George will continue to serve as assistant director of the Damietta Cross-Cultural Center at Siena College.

Additional updates about HNP friars can be found in Friar News Briefs.
