The Provincial Administration has announced new assignments for four friars.
Michael Calabria, OFM, has been assigned to St. Bonaventure University, Allegany, N.Y., as director of the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Franciscan Institute, effective May 1. He had been stationed at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., for three years.
Jacques LaPointe, OFM, has been assigned to Garches, France, effective immediately. While there, he will give retreats, offer witness talks and teachings on faith and prayer, and participate in healing services. He will be affiliated with St. Anthony Shrine, Boston.
Gary Maciag, OFM, has been assigned to Assumption of Our Blessed Lady Friary in Wood-Ridge, N.J., effective May 3. He has assumed the position of special assistant to the president of Felician College in Lodi, N.J., while continuing his responsibilities as executive director of the Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities.
Stanislaus Widomski, OFM, has been assigned to Holy Name Friary in Ringwood, N.J. effective April 29.
