NEW YORK — The Provincial Administration has announced new assignments for five friars.
Daniel Horan, OFM, has been assigned to Blessed Giles Friary in Chicago, effective Aug. 15. He will be working as a visiting assistant professor at the Catholic Theological Union.
Gregory Jakubowitz, OFM, has been assigned to St. Joseph University Parish Rectory in Buffalo, N.Y., effective June 17. He will serve as campus minister at University of Buffalo South Campus.
Robert Menard, OFM, has been appointed regional guardian of the friaries in Athens, Ga., and in Anderson, Clemson and Greenville, S.C.
In addition, two friars, John Felice, OFM, and John McVean, OFM, are stepping down from their roles as president and vice president of St. Francis Friends of the Poor, New York City, as of June 30. The new administration of the more than 30-year-old residences for the homeless and mentally ill include Stephen Mimnaugh, OFM, as executive director, and Thomas Walters, OFM, as director of tenant services.
