NEW YORK — The Provincial Administration has announced new assignments for four friars and the withdrawal of a student.
Thomas Cole, OFM, has been named director of the Franciscan Missionary Union, effective immediately, succeeding Russell Becker, OFM. Russell will continue as secretary for missionary evangelization for the Province.
Dwayne Fernandes, OFM, will be ministering at St. Anthony Parish in Greenville, S.C., for the summer, not studying in Bolivia, as previously announced.
Paul Keenan, OFM, has been assigned to the pastoral staff of St. Joseph Parish in East Rutherford, N.J., effective July 1. Paul, along with pastor Kevin Daly, OFM, will be residing at Assumption Friary in Wood-Ridge, N.J., effective July 1. Parochial vicar Zachary Elliott, OFM, will continue to live at Sacred Heart Friary in East Rutherford.
Alexander La Point has withdrawn from the postulancy program, effective June 11. The Province wishes AJ God’s blessings as he continues his discernment.
Reginald Redlon, OFM, has moved from St. Anthony Residence in Boston to Holy Name Friary, Ringwood, N.J., effective June 16.
