The Provincial Administration has announced three friar assignments.
Christopher Keenan, OFM, has been given permission by the Provincial Council to take up residence at the College of Mount St. Vincent in the Bronx, where he is part-time campus minister, while continuing as part-time chaplain to the Fire Department of New York. He will be attached to St. Francis Friary in Manhattan. Chris will move to the Bronx in early June.
Jim McIntosh, OFM, is residing temporarily at St. Anthony Residence, 103 Arch St., in Boston, as he recuperates from surgery to repair his knee following a fall while working at the General Curia in Rome. He will be there roughly three months.
Robert Menard, OFM, who has been granted a sabbatical leave to follow up his interest in Christian-Muslim relations, left early in April for Morocco, where he will spend several months working in Franciscan mission centers in Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier, spending a few weeks in each location. He will interrupt his time in Morocco briefly to return to the United States to take part in the discernment retreat for the new interprovincial novitiate team May 10 to 12. After his stay in Morocco, Robert will visit Egypt before studying at the Tantur Ecumenical Institute in Israel.
