The Provincial Administration has announced several friar transitions.
Francis Gunn, OFM, has requested an indult of exclaustration from the Order with the intention of exploring incardination into the Diocese of Albany, N.Y.
Edward Metzger, OFM, has been given permission to retire from full-time ministry and will take up residence at St. Anthony Friary in St. Petersburg, Fla., effective Feb. 21.
Stanislaus Widomski, OFM, will be returning to the United States this spring after serving for almost 50 years in Japan. The Japanese province will be putting the friary in Kiryu-Shi, where he has resided, to other uses. After visiting his family in Erie, Pa., Stanislaus will also be assigned to that St. Anthony Friary, effective May 9.
Paul Williams, OFM, has been appointed pastor of St. Joseph Church in Anderson, S.C., effective March 5. Henry Fulmer, OFM, will join Paul as pastoral associate. This will bring to an end the friars’ eight-year presence at St. Martin de Porres Parish in Columbia, S.C.
