HNP Communications Friar News

The Provincial Administration has announced new assignments for six friars.

Evan Greco, OFM, is retiring from full-time ministry to St. Anthony Friary in Butler, N.J., effective Nov. 1.

Stephen Kluge, OFM, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Long Beach Island, N.J., has been granted permission to take a semester sabbatical, beginning Jan. 1, 2014. At the recommendation of the Province, James Scullion, OFM,has been named administrator of the parish by Bishop David O’Connell of Trenton, N.J., until a permanent appointment is made following the 2014 Provincial Chapter.

Paul Osborne, OFM, has completed his service for Holy Name Province in Brazil and returned to the United States. He has been named pastor of St. Anthony Parish, Yulan, N.Y., by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York, and will arrive there Oct. 30. Thomas Jones, OFM, the former pastor, will remain in Yulan as senior friar in residence, filling in as needed at the Sullivan County parishes.

Leon Ristuccia, OFM, who had been living at Holy Name Friary in Ringwood, N.J., temporarily, is now a permanent resident there effective Oct. 15.
