HNP Communications Friar News

The Provincial Administration has announced new assignments for six friars.

 

Fran Di Spigno, OFM, has been assigned to St. Mary’s Friary in Pompton Lakes, N.J., where he will serve as a part-time parochial vicar at the parish, effective Jan. 10, 2020. While there, Francis will also take some sabbatical time. This is effective through the 2020 Provincial Chapter, taking place from May 31 to June 5. Francis had been stationed at St. Bonaventure University since 2011.
Provincial Vicar Larry Hayes, OFM, has been assigned to St. Camillus Parish in Silver Spring, Md., until the 2020 Chapter. He will travel to the Provincial Office monthly (and as needed) for provincial business.
Erick Lopez, OFM, has been assigned to the North American Interprovincial Novitiate at Old Mission Santa Barbara, California, where he will serve as a member of the novitiate team, effective Jan. 15, 2020. He had been stationed at St. Camillus for the past nine years.
Kevin McGoff, OFM, has received permission to accept a new position as director of music at St. Margaret Church in Bel Air, Maryland. He will be living in Abingdon, Maryland, and will be officially attached to the fraternity-in-mission at St. Camillus Parish in Silver Spring.
Emmet Murphy, OFM, has received permission to live at the Ite Nuntiate Franciscan fraternity-in-mission in Elfrida, Arizona, effective immediately. This assignment is in effect until the 2020 Provincial Chapter. He will remain officially attached to St. Anthony Friary in Butler, N.J., where he had been living. 
James Nero, OFM, has taken up permanent residence at St. Anthony Friary in St. Petersburg, Florida, as a retired friar, effective immediately.
