NEW YORK — The Provincial Council, at its meeting of Jan. 12, granted permission to Jacques LaPointe, OFM, to engage in Francophone ministry in the Diocese of Portland, Maine.
Jacques will become administrator of Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Parish, Madawaska, and St. Peter Chanel Parish, Van Buren, effective Feb. 1. His new address is: 337 Thomas St., P.O. Box 128, Madawaska ME 04746.
Also, the Provincial Council has announced the sale of the Province’s house in Ho-ho-kus, N.J., St. Anthony of Padua Friary. It was purchased by the Province in 1995 for use as a residence for friars engaged in the Ministry of the Word.
