NEW YORK — More than 30 religious sisters participated in the second annual Day for Sisters at St. Francis of Assisi Church on West 31st Street last month.

“Spirituality Through Sculpture,” held Oct. 30 in San Damiano Hall, was described as “a walk with the art and life of August Rodin to enliven the creative spirit.” Presenter Sr. Jo Anne Jones, RSM, is an educator and spiritual director who has specialized in the fields of theology, women’s spirituality, personal growth and faith development.
The participants said they appreciated the “time away from regular concerns to stop and reflect on how we are all God’s works of art and how we continue God’s work by our response to life experiences with the individual gifts that have been given to all of us,” said Tony LoGalbo, OFM, director of the Center for Spirituality and Spiritual Direction at St. Francis of Assisi Church, who helped organize the event.
“From the comments on the program evaluations, the sisters also seemed to appreciate the opportunity to interact with sisters from different communities,” Tony added.
