WILLISTON PARK, N.Y. – More than 100 people, including three generations of family members, came to St. Aidan’s Church here June 24 to help Thomas Fox celebrate 60 years as a priest, according to an article in The Long Island Catholic.
The article quotes many of the members of Tom’s family, as well as Lawrence Burke, one of Tom’s classmates who was the homilist at the Mass.
“Two members of our class were set to be missionaries,” Larry is quoted as saying, describing them “as rough guys ready for any challenges.” He congratulated Tom for showing that spirit, becoming what was referred to in the day’s Scripture reading as “a light to the nations.”
