July 12-16, 2015 — Holy Name Province hosted the communicators of the English-speaking Conference for their annual meeting. The 2016 meeting, scheduled for July 31 to Aug. 4, is being hosted by the Province of Ireland and will be led by Jocelyn Thomas, HNP director of communications, who is chair of the ESC Communications Committee.

July 16, 2011 — St. Bonaventure University in Western New York recognized Fr. Joseph Chinnici, OFM, an American Church historian and Franciscan scholar, with the Franciscan Institute Medal at a commemoration of the feast of St. Bonaventure. This month, ministries around the Province are celebrating the July 15 feast of St. Bonaventure.

July 28-30, 2006 — Joseph Nangle, OFM, was named an Ambassador of Peace by Pax Christi USA at a gathering in Pittsburgh. Joe currently serves as a Provincial Councilor and as Latino ministry director at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Arlington, Va.

July 21, 2001 – Groundbreaking was held for an addition to St. Francis Center on Long Beach Island, N.J. In 2012, the center marked its 40th anniversary.

July 7, 1996 — The Province assumed responsibility for Immaculate Conception Parish in Durham, N.C., where John Heffernan, OFM, David McBride, OFM, and Patrick Tuttle, OFM, were the first friars to serve the community.

July 17-20, 1981 — The Eighth Triennial Provincial Congress of the Secular Franciscans of Holy Name Province was held in Buffalo, N.Y.
