April 8, 2010 — Provincial leaders John O’Connor, OFM, and Dominic Monti, OFM, arrived in Frankfurt, Germany, to visit the ministries and attend the closing ceremonies of the 500-year-old St. Elizabeth of Thuringia Province of Franciscan friars.
April 25, 2010 — The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi dedicated three new buildings on its Raleigh, N.C., campus. The buildings were dedicated on the 28th anniversary of the dedication of the church. (In January 2011, the U.S. Green Building Council awarded LEED certification to Elizabeth Hall, St. Mary of the Angels Chapel and the Assisi Community Center.)

April 27, 2006 — “Saint of 9/11,” a feature-length documentary about Mychal Judge, OFM, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. The movie tells the story of the Franciscan friar and FDNY chaplain who died on Sept. 11, 2001. (The film was available for streaming on Hulu during September 2010).

April 9, 1986 — Alban Maguire, OFM, then Provincial Minister, officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Provincial infirmary in Ringwood, N.J. (Holy Name Friary, directed by A. Francis Soucy, OFM, has received numerous awards for its healthcare.)
