HNP Communications Around the Province

NEW YORK — October is a month filled with history in the Province. Some of the events that have happened in October over the years are noted below.

Oct. 1 — Kevin Mullen, OFM, was inaugurated as the tenth president of Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y.
Oct. 7 — The Carnevale Center at St. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes, N.J., dedicated.

1998
Oct. 4 —  A celebration of 140 years of Franciscan presence in Buffalo, N.Y., held at St. Rita & Patrick Church.
Oct. 4 —  Dedication of a renovated youth center and counseling center took place at St. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes.

1988
Oct. 3 — Robert Gonzalez, OFM, ordained a bishop at Holy Cross Cathedral in Boston.  Later that month, Holy Name Friary, the Province’s new infirmary, was dedicated in Ringwood, N.J. 

1978
Oct. 3 — The Provincial Minister, Charles Finnegan, OFM, blessed the redecorated basement chapel at Saint Anthony Shrine in Boston. 
Oct. 22 — Eighty members of the Province attended a workshop for superiors at St. Francis Friary in Rye Beach. N.H.
Oct. 29 — Provincial Minister Charles Finnegan, OFM, blessed the newly-renovated chapel of the provincial house of prayer in Warwick, N.Y.
