With the end of the academic year come new assignments for Holy Name Province’s student friars. This summer, nine men will be assigned to ministries across the globe as they continue their Franciscan formation.

“Everyone here has been very busy with their final exams, papers and evaluations,” said Joseph Rozansky, OFM, about St. Joseph Friary in Chicago, where he is co-director of the interprovincial post-novitiate program. “There is no set date for the formation students to start their assignments this year, especially since they will be attending the Provincial Chapter in early June.”

This summer, Dennis Bennett, OFM, will continue to work at Siena College, Loudonville, N.Y., where he began an internship in fall 2016.

Javier Del Angel De Los Santos, OFM, will be stationed at St. Francis Parish in Triangle, Va., for the summer.

Abel Garcia, OFM, will be stationed at St. Peter Claver Parish in Macon, Ga., for the summer.

Abraham Joseph, OFM, will begin his yearlong internship at Holy Name Parish in New York City.

Aaron Richardson, OFM, will be stationed at Sacred Heart Parish in Tampa, Fla., for the summer.

Christian Seno, OFM, will be working at Franciscans International’s office in Geneva, Switzerland, in preparation for a yearlong internship at Franciscans International in New York City.  On May 20, he graduated from Loyola University of Maryland with a master’s degree in pastoral counseling. The day before, Christian was recognized with the university’s annual Jack Compton Award.

Roberto Serrano, OFM, will be stationed at St. Mary Parish in Pompton Lakes, N.J., for the summer.

Angel Vázquez, OFM, will be stationed at Mt. Irenaeus in West Clarksville, N.Y., for the summer. He recently earned a certificate in pastoral studies from the Chicago Theological Union.

Jay Woods, OFM, will be stationed at St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia for the summer, while also spending weekends with neighboring parishes staffed by the friars.

On Aug. 26, the friars will gather in New York City to witness and celebrate the solemn profession of Casey Cole, OFM, and Ramoncito Razon, OFM. These two friars will be participating in the traditional solemn profession retreat this summer before they profess their vows.
