It’s back to school time for many students — for some as soon as next week. Both St. Bonaventure University and the Washington Theological Union resume on Aug. 29.
Siena College, in Loudonville, N.Y., will begin after Labor Day on Sept. 6.
The new semester brings new friars to each of the institutions.
At Bonaventure, in Allegany, N.Y., it will be the first semester for Francis Di Spigno, OFM, in his role as executive director of faith formation, worship and ministry. Basil Valente, OFM, was recently named director of the university’s Integrated Marketing Communications program.
For the WTU, it is the last semester of new students — including George Camacho, OFM — as it was announced in June that the union would conclude its mission in 2013. WTU will host its annual Mass of the Holy Spirit at 5 p.m. on Sept. 7.
The Siena campus welcomes student friar Edgardo Zea Laura, OFM, who will be spending his internship year working and studying at the Upstate New York college.
