ALLEGANY, N.Y. — St. Bonaventure University’s Franciscan Institute and School of Franciscan Studies hosted a public lecture titled “Francis of Assisi and Studies: Untying the Gordian Knot” earlier this month. It featured Fr. Pat McCloskey, OFM, editor of St. Anthony Messenger magazine.

Fr. Pat, who has edited the 117-year-old magazine since 2002, received a graduate degree from St. Bonaventure University in Franciscan Studies. In his June 8 presentation, Fr.
