St. Anthony Shrine Launches Vocation Effort

HNP Communications In the Headlines

BOSTON — Three friars from St. Anthony Shrine, “the Church on Arch Street,” are inviting men aged 21 to 38 to discuss Franciscan life.

David Convertino, OFM, John Maganzini, OFM, and Gene Pistacchio, OFM, have arranged a new program called “Maybe Saint Francis Wants YOU!” During March, they are hosting discussion sessions on Franciscan life for interested participants.

The final session of the three programs is March 18. Information is available on a flyer that was displayed at St. Anthony Shrine.

One session was held on a Sunday after one of the Masses and two of the sessions were scheduled for evenings to accommodate those coming directly from work, said John. Each program begins with refreshments followed by discussion.

The three organizers are involved with the Franciscan Vocation Ministry. John is the Province’s postulant director and David and Gene comprise HNP’s New England vocation team, one of six regional teams.

The program was announced earlier this month, soon after vocation director Brian Smail, OFM, showed the new “Make a Life Shift” video to a fraternal gathering of friars in Boston on Feb. 25.
