BOSTON — On Pentecost Sunday, May 31, the friar community of St. Anthony Shrine here greeted Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, his wife, Angela, and invited guests for a special preprandium and dinner.

At least once a year, the mayor, who is supportive of the shrine’s many ministries, comes to St. Anthony for an informal evening with the friars, according to John Maganzini, OFM.

“The friary kitchen staff prepared a special preprandium and dinner, and everyone enjoyed a relaxing evening with good conversation and excellent food,” said John. “The Meninos enjoy catching up on things that are happening at the shrine.”

“It is always wonderful to be here and to hear all the good things that are being done,” said the mayor.
