St. Anthony Shrine Holds First Eucharistic Congress for Lay Ministers

BOSTON — The friars and lay ministry of St. Anthony Shrine celebrated their first annual Eucharistic Congress on  Oct. 28. David Convertino greeted and thanked the participants for their service in the various ministries of the shrine. Sr. Marie Puleo, MFIC opened the day with morning prayer.

Kevin Tortorelli gave an engaging keynote address on Augustine and the Eucharist” and five informative breakout sessions, each repeated twice, followed. The presenters were John Maganzini, John Hogan, Philip O’Shea,andBrian Smail. Dr. Jackie Stewart, director of evangelization for the shrine, enriched the ministry of the lectors with practical and liturgical direction.

The day was a huge success for the whole community and all involved look forward to next year’s event. The general comment of the day was, “This was wonderful. Please do this again!”
