NEW YORK — In honor of the 750th anniversary of the discovery of the body of St. Anthony by St. Bonaventure, a precious relic from the Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, Italy, will be displayed at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi on West 31st Street next month.
Six special Masses to honor St. Anthony will be celebrated on Feb. 19. They are at 11:30 a.m. and at 12:15, 1:15, 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
The Province’s church is one of eight locations in the New York metropolitan area where the relics are being displayed and honored this year. The relic will be accompanied by three friars from the Basilica, according to a flyer that lists the venues at which the relics will be displayed.
