Southwest Province Elects Fr. Gino Correa

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Our Lady of Guadalupe Province, headquartered here, held its Chapter from June 28 to July 3, electing new leaders.

Fr. Gino Correa, OFM, was elected Provincial Minister; Fr. Ron Walters, OFM, Provincial Vicar; and Br. Duane Torisky, OFM, Fr. Sean Murnan, OFM, Fr. Gonzalo Moreno, OFM, and Br. Jose Rodriguez, OFM, were elected definitors.

Earlier in the year, the Province blessed its new friary, Casa Guadalupe, at the Provincial Curia, and consecrated a new altar in the chapel. Fr. Larry Dunham, OFM, former provincial minister, began the blessing by ceremonially knocking on the front door and entering the new friary building and courtyard.

The friary is decorated with the four direction colors of the Native Americans (red, yellow, black and white) as well as purple representing the Passion of Christ, Franciscan brown and rose for Our Lady of Guadalupe.
