Siena‘s Chapter of Relay for Life Seeks Alumni Support

LOUDONVILLE , N.Y. — Siena College welcomes its alumni to participate in next month’s Relay for Life, an event that raises money for the American Cancer Society and awareness about cancer.

An article on Siena’s Web site points out that “there are many ways you can help fight cancer in your community. One of these ways is by getting involved with Siena College’s Relay For Life from April 14 to 15.

Relay For Life is a 12-hour overnight event held at many locations throughout the country. Siena’s Relay will be in the Marcelle Athletic Complex. The Siena community will get together there to remember and honor those people in the lives of the community who have been affected by cancer.

Participants can stay for as little as 20 minutes, or the entire 12 hours. Registration can be done via the Relay For Life Web site shown below.

The Second Annual Relay for Life Benefit was held on Friday, March 9 at the Franklin Plaza Ballroom in Troy, N.Y.  All net proceeds went to the American Cancer Society.

The benefit committee included John Kelly, honorary chair; director of WVCR, Michelle Liptak, director of the Writing Center and Tutoring Services Nathan Maloney, Siena class of 2000,  director of alumni relations,  Shannon O’Neill, director of the Women’s Center Michael Reinoehl, Class of ’90 Mary Strunk, assistant vice president of Finance.
