HNP Communications Around the Province

One of the responsibilities of Brian Belanger, director of international programs at Siena College, is promoting Siena students studying abroad for a semester or school year.

In the fall 2006 semester, Siena students will study in 23 different countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Chile, China, Denmark, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Nicaragua, Poland, Scotland, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania and Thailand.

“In addition to traditional study abroad, we are developing partnerships with universities overseas through which our students volunteer 15 to 20 hours a week for a whole semester, working directly with the poor and learning advocacy skills through specific coursework. These students are in Ecuador, Namibia, Thailand, Italy, Nicaragua and France,” Brian said.
