NEW YORK — A variety of Christmas gifts, including many items with a Franciscan theme, are available this year through the Monastery Greetings Web site.
Hundreds of items made in monasteries can be purchased. The Web site offers products from monasteries, religious communities and hermitages, including Trappist, Benedictine and Franciscan communities. Catalogs are also available.
Christmas gifts including items such as creches, devotional books, medals, rosaries, and music CDs can also be found at bookstores throughout the Province. They include St. Francis of Assisi on West 31st Street in Manhattan (212-736-8500), the St. Francis Shop at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach Island, N.J. (609-494-7269) as well as The Parish Store near St. Mary Church in Pompton Lakes, N.J., which is operated by Blake Prasitsto, a former St. Mary’s staff member.
