HARTFORD, Conn. — Holy Name Province is hosting a Servant Leadership weekend Sept. 21 to 23 at Loyola Retreat House in Faulkner, Md.  The event, called “Come and See;  Servant Leadership  in Holy Name Province,” is open to all friars, staff and parishioners of HNP parishes and ministries according to Melina Rudman, director of the Servant Leadership School at the Franciscan Center here, who is leading the program.

The weekend will “be a time to learn more about servant leadership, experience two of the Beginnings circles, create community, and to discern whether a servant leadership  program is something participants would like to arrange for their site,” Melina said.    Since space at the retreat center is limited, she requested that interested sites register three people maximum. If more space becomes available, she will contact other interested participants.

The weekend will begin with a Friday evening dinner and end with Sunday lunch. Saturday’s agenda comprises prayer, meals, free time, and workshops and discussions about –
● Water Glasses
● Deep Listening
● The Paradox of Power

Andrew Reitz, chair of the Province’s Ministerial Development Directorate, said that this retreat will be way to deepen people’s understanding of this formation process.

“In giving more time over this September weekend, participants will experience new aspects of the process and be able to explore future use of servant leadership pat their ministerial sites,” Andrew said.
