Save the Date – Night of Stars: March 20, 2023

Night of Stars, the extraordinary evening of food, drink, and live performances from some of Broadway’s biggest performers, will be hosted by the Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province on March 20. The magical, star-studded evening, which will be held at Second Floor (Sixth Ave.) in Manhattan, is for a meaningful cause, according to David Convertino, OFM, Director of HNP’s Office of Development, which organizes the annual fundraising affair.

The proceeds, says David, support the education of friars for future ministry, care for elder friars who have served so many for so long, and Franciscan ministries and programs that help those who are fighting the obstacles of poverty, hunger, homelessness, and mental illness.

The Franciscan Friars serve more than two million people annually through outreach ministries, food centers, breadlines, shelters, soup kitchens, residences for the mentally ill, medical and dental assistance, assistance for immigrants and new migrants and refugees, drug rehabilitation, care centers for the homeless, and burying the unwanted and forgotten deceased.

Last year’s Night of Stars returned to a live and in-person event after the global pandemic caused organizers to adjust to a virtual format in 2020 and 2021. The sold-out 2022 event last March raised a half-million-dollars! “The extraordinary generosity of our friends and supporters enables us to extend our outreach and services to those in need,” said David.

“Aside from meeting amazing Broadway talent, our guests and supporters have told us that one of the highlights of the evening is meeting Franciscans friars. We always make sure at least one friar is seated at every table because guests enjoy the conversation and stories of the brothers and their ministries,” he added.
