RALEIGH, N.C. — The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi here is publicizing an opportunity for an energetic visionary to principal its kindergarten-eight grade parish-based parochial school.  The Franciscan School, founded in 2000, is a state-of-the-art educational facility with a talented and diverse faculty and a current enrollment of 655 students. 

The Franciscan School maintains high academic standards, a strong spiritual focus, a positive atmosphere, enthusiastic parental involvement, and community service, all in the Franciscan tradition of a strong Catholic educational environment supported by the parish community, according to Joan Port, assistant to pastor Mark Reamer, OFM.

The qualified applicant must be a practicing Catholic possessing a master’s degree in educational administration or curriculum and instruction, must have or be eligible for an administrator’s license from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and must have administrative experience, preferably in a parish-based Catholic school.  The successful candidate must be a caring and compassionate leader capable of interacting positively with parents, students, faculty, and parish staff.  Strong communication and leadership skills that foster collaboration are essential.
