Nov. 3, 2012 — The Province celebrated the priestly ordination of Frank Critch, OFM, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Triangle, Va. (Last month, Frank, who owned a restaurant before joining the Order, welcomed HNP postulants to St. Francis Parish with a home-cooked meal. Photos are available on the postulants’ Facebook page.)
Nov. 15, 2012 — The Franciscan Community Center, a ministry of Holy Name of Jesus Parish in New York City, where Daniel Kenna, OFM, is pastor, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a fundraising event.

Nov. 1, 2008 — Fordham University, a Jesuit school in New York City, recognized the ministry of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and its partnership with the school at its Sapientia et Doctrina Awards ceremony. The award was presented to Provincial Minister John O’Connor, OFM, and St. Francis of Assisi pastor Jerome Massimino, OFM, to recognize the friars’ contribution to the school’s mission and the Church’s renewal.
Nov. 2, 2008 — Brian Jordan, OFM, ran in the New York City Marathon to raise money for New York City construction workers killed or severely injured that year. (Brian has run more than 60 marathons.)
Nov. 23, 2008 — Archbishop Roberto González, OFM, of San Juan, Puerto Rico, blessed the new altar at St. Francis of Assisi Church in New York City. (Roberto recently celebrated his 25th anniversary as bishop.)

Nov. 2, 2003 — All Saints Parish in East Harlem, N.Y., inaugurated the 125th anniversary of its establishment.
20 Years Ago
Nov. 2, 1993 — Aubrey McNeil, OFM, led a group of 20 people on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in conjunction with Franciscan Pilgrimage Tours. (Last year, Aubrey, Henry Fulmer, OFM, and laypeople from St. Mary of the Angels Parish and St. Joseph Parish in Anderson, S.C., traveled on a pilgrimage to Italy.)

Nov. 2, 1983 — Benedict Taylor, OFM, opened Create House, a transitional shelter for homeless men, in Harlem, N.Y. (Today, Benedict serves as a consultant for the much-expanded ministry.)
Nov. 6, 1983 — St. Joseph’s Parish, Bainbridge, Ga., celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Nov. 13, 1983 — Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Kingston, Jamaica, celebrated its silver jubilee.
Nov. 13, 1983 — Juniper House, the pre-novitiate formation house in Philadelphia, was officially dedicated.
