Letter of Invitation from Diocese of Raleigh

The Provincial Council reviewed and discussed an invitation from the Diocese of Raleigh to consider taking responsibility for two or three areas of ministry within the Chapel Hill region of the diocese. The Provincial Council recommended that we explore this invitation and members of the ministerial development directorate, under the leadership of Andrew Reitz, visit the ministries in the Chapel Hill region and provide a report of their visit to the Provincial Council.

Reports from Directorates and Committees

The Provincial Council received reports from the chairs of the following directorates and committees: finance (Kevin Mullen); ministerial development (Andrew Reitz); ongoing formation (Edward Coughlin) and justice, peace and integrity of creation (Daniel Dwyer).

Dominic Monti gave a report on behalf of the higher studies committee, which included an update on the various friars engaged in studies. He reported that the committee made a recommendation that the proposals of Brian Jordan and Kyle Haden for higher studies be approved. The Provincial Council approved the recommendation of the committee.

Brian has been accepted into a master’s degree program in Professional Studies (in Industrial and Labor Relations) at the Cornell University Extension School in New York. Kyle is applying to study for a Doctor of Ministry degree.
