HNP Communications Around the Province

WASHINGTON — Friars and partners-in-ministry around the Province are invited to participate in this year’s JPIC Local Contacts Retreat, set for June 10 to 12 in Ringwood, N.J. The annual gathering, which runs from Friday evening until Sunday morning, offers participants a chance to share best practices as well as to hear a presentation by Russell Testa, director of the Province’s Office for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation.

“This event promises to be an excellent opportunity to recharge your efforts for JPIC ministry and help with the 2011-12 planning of Provincial and local strategies for JPIC ministry,” according to a flyer recently distributed to people active in Justice and Peace programs around the Province.

The Province has offered this JPIC gathering for the past seven years. The deadline to register for the 2011 program, being held at Mt. St. Francis Retreat Center in Ringwood, is June 1.

Information is available from the JPIC Office; Testa can be reached at 202-527-7561 and jpic@hnp.org, and his assistant, Fran Eskin-Royer, can be reached at 202-527-7562 or eskin-royer@hnp.org.

Other programs on which the JPIC Office staff members are currently focused include:
· presentation this week by Testa at the Franciscan Symposium being held at the Washington Theological Union
· updating the Seasonal Programs section of the Justice and Peace page of the HNP website
· forming the JPIC Directorate for the 2011-2014 term
