NEW YORK — Holy Name’s African-American Committee has announced two events for next year.
Details about the following will be provided at a later date:
1. Province commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Sunday Jan. 20 in Greenville, S.C.
2. Workshop titled “Ingredients of Ministry in the African-American Catholic Community” on April 10 and 11, 2008. Speakers will be Donald Sterling of Baltimore, Md., and Giles Conwell of Morehouse College in Atlanta.
The committee announced these events after its Sept. 20 meeting at the Provincial Office.
Members of the committee, whose chair is David Hyman, OFM, of Athens, Ga., shown in photo, include Giles Conwill, and friars John Frambes, OFM, Henry Fulmer, OFM, Neil O’Connell, OFM, Benedict Taylor, OFM, Patrick Tuttle, OFM and Paul Williams, OFM, as well as partners in ministry Stephanie Ali, Brenfa Burns, Beverly Carroll, and Teresa Hairston.
