NEW YORK — Holy Name Province members are mourning the deaths of two former friars.
Fr. Xavier (Bartholomew) Renda died June 22 in Branford, Conn., at the age of 78. Ordained in Holy Name Province in 1958, Fr. Renda eventually withdrew from the Order to become a priest in the Diocese of Bridgeport, Conn.
J. Colin Supple died July 15 in Clearwater, Fla., at the age of 79.
The friars are also mourning the death of Fr. David Turnbull, OFM, of St. John the Baptist Province, who died July 16 in Cincinnati.
