NEW YORK — Two friars are mourning the recent deaths of family members.
Richard Carey, brother of postulant Scott Carey, died Jan. 12. Funeral arrangements were planned for Florida.
Virginia Cushing, the sister-in-law of Vincent Cushing, OFM, died on Jan. 8. A Mass of Christian burial was held Jan. 12 in Paramus, N.J.
Several friars from other OFM provinces have died recently. They include:
- Michael Clarahan, OFM, Sacred Heart Province, who died Dec. 30
- Allan Haiar, OFM, Sacred Heart Province, who died on Dec. 19
- Ernest Francis Latko, OFM, of Assumption BVM Province, died at the age of 93
