Province Extends Sympathy to Families of Deceased

The Holy Name community is mourning the deaths of two friars’ relatives as well as a Francis Medal recipient.

Catherine Sheehan, 101, mother of the late Thomas Sheehan, OFM, died Oct. 31. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 4 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lancaster, N.Y.
Eugene Wild, uncle of Kevin Mullen, OFM, died Nov. 7 at the age of 89. A Mass of the Resurerection is being celebrated Nov. 11 at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson, N.J.
Joseph Francis Bond, Sr., died Oct. 31 in Greensboro, N.C. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 5 at St. Pius X Church in Greensboro. Bond, a 2001 Francis Medal recipient, served as a Siena College board of trustee and board president of St. Francis Springs Prayer Center in Stoneville, N.C. 
In addition, the friars mourn the death of several friends of the Province.
Frs. Bede Ferrara, OFM, and Sebastian Buccellato, OFM, of Immaculate Conception Province, died Oct. 22 and Nov. 4, respectively.
Fr. Aquinas Schneider, OFM, of St. John the Baptist Province, died Oct. 27.
Anthony Gigliello, a former friar, died Nov. 3. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Nov. 6 at St. Clement Church in Medford, Mass. Gigliello had served the University of Georgia in the early 1980s.
Sr. Agnes Morrissey, SC, died Nov. 4. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 6 in Wellesley Hills, Mass. Sr. Agnes was one of the original founders of Berakah — a ministry for young adults — with Richard Husted, OFM, and a pastoral associate at St. Joseph Church, East Rutherford, N.J.
