Province Extends Sympathy to Families of Deceased

The Provincial Office extends sympathy to the families of friars and friends who have died recently. 

Janet Anderson, 80, mother of Lawrence Anderson, OFM, of Loudonville, New York, died on April 14. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on April 20 in Batavia, New York.

Katherine Anderson, 54, niece of Michael Joyce, OFM, of Butler, New Jersey, died on April 22.

Helen Weiksnar, 96, mother of Jud Weisknar, OFM, died on April 22. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on April 27 at Ss. Columba-Brigid Church in Buffalo, New York, where Jud is pastor.

Gwen Sheridan Caracci, 87, mother of former HNP member Michael Sheridan, died on April 24. Condolences can be sent to Michael Sheridan at 173 Steadwell Ave., Amsterdam NY 12010. 

Damian McElrath, 92, a former friar, died on April 25 in Minnesota where he had lived since the late 1970s. From 1973 until 1975, he served as president of St. Bonaventure University in Western New York. Condolences can be sent to Damian’s wife, Sandy McElrath at 1120 Magnolia Lane North, Plymouth MN 55441.
