Province Extends Sympathy to Families of Deceased

The friars of Holy Name Province extend sympathy to the families of friars and friends who recently died.

Richard Francis Mullen, 75, brother of Provincial Minister Kevin Mullen, OFM, died on Sept. 19 at his home in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, U.K. Kevin to celebrated a memorial Mass at Siena College that was live-streamed for family and friends.

Christine Cobillas, sister of John Gutiérrez, OFM, of St. Barbara Province, the director of the US-6 interprovincial postulancy in Silver Spring, Maryland, died on Sept. 14 in California. Her husband had been a member of St. Barbara Province in the 1970s. Her funeral Mass was live-streamed on YouTube.

Carmen Solis, 92, grandmother of Sharon Berrios, executive secretary in the HNP Provincial Office, died on Sept. 25 in New York City. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Sept. 30 at Holy Name of Jesus Church in New York City.

Joyce Dunn Joyce, 84, sister-in-law of Michael Joyce, OFM, of Butler, New Jersey, died on Oct. 13 in Tinton Falls, N.J. She is survived by her husband, James Joyce, and six daughters.
