Holy Name Province is mourning the passing of a former friar, relatives of two friars and an esteemed partner-in-ministry.
Gerard Joseph “Brian” Gallo, 89, a former friar, died on Feb. 24 in North Port, Fla.
John Young, 61, father of novice Steven Young, OFM, died on Feb. 24, in Boston, Mass. A memorial Mass was held on March 8 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton, Mass. Steven currently lives in the interprovincial novitiate at Santa Barbara, Calif.
Kimberly Young O‘Mara, 53, a faculty member in St. Bonaventure University’s Jandoli School of Communications and an internationally renowned expert in internet addiction, died on Feb. 28 in Lehigh Acres, Fla. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the St. Bonaventure University Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on March 28.
William Murphy, 64, cousin of Brian Jordan, OFM, of New York City, died on March 6 in Hingham, Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to be celebrated at 10 a.m. on March 14 at St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate, Mass.
