Province Extends Sympathy to Families of Deceased

The Holy Name Province community is mourning the deaths of two friars’ relatives.

Cathy Russell Harding, sister of Ignatius Harding, OFM, of Cochabamba, Bolivia, died Feb. 28. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 5 at St. James Church in Rocky Hill, Conn.

James Corcoran, brother of the late Cassian Corcoran, OFM, died Feb. 28. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered March 3 at St. Helen’s Church in Schenectady, N.Y.

In addition, the friars mourn the deaths of several friends of the Province.

• Br. Kevin Goss, SA, ministerial superior of the sick and retired Friars of the Atonement, died unexpectedly on Feb. 22. Br. Kevin worked closely with A. Francis Soucy, OFM, ministering to the Atonement friars who live at Holy Name Friary, Ringwood, N.J.

• Fr. Nicholas Lohkamp, OFM, a member of St. John the Baptist Province, died Feb. 23 in Cincinnati at the age of 85. Fr. Nicholas was general visitor for Holy Name Province in 2002.

• Sr. Shirley Irasga, OSC, died Feb. 26 at the Monastery of St. Clare in Chesterfield, N.J. She was 53 years old.

• Robert Kennedy, father of former friar Robert Kennedy, died Feb. 28 in Florida.
