The Province is mourning the deaths of a friar’s relative and the death of a friar with close ties to Holy Name Province.
Fr. Stephen Sabbagh, OFM, of the Custody of the Holy Land, died Aug. 6. Fr. Stephen professed first vows with Holy Name Province, studied at Holy Name College and was ordained with the class of 1959. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 9 at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in Washington.
Raymond Siegel, brother-in-law of Thomas Hartle, OFM, of Butler, N.J., died July 29. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Aug. 2 at St. Michael’s Church in Fryburg, Pa. Condolences may be sent to Raymond’s wife, Martha, at PO box 58, Marble, PA 16334.
