Province Extends Sympathy to Families of Deceased

The Province is mourning the deaths of a friar’s aunt, an HNP affiliate, and the relatives of a St. Bonaventure University trustee and a professor.

Mildred Harrington, aunt of vocation director Brian Smail, OFM, died April 3 in Stoneham, Mass.

Martha “Lolly” Clotts, 89, mother-in-law of Jim Stitt, SBU trustee, died April 2 in Olean, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Mother of Sorrow Chapel at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. Memorial donations can be made to the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation, 120 N. Union St., Olean, NY 14760.

Paul Donius, brother of Robert Donius, theology professor at St. Bonaventure University, died April 2. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered April 6 at Christ the King Church in Snyder, N.Y. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Foundation of Western New York.

John “Jack” Coffey, an affiliate of the Province, died April 1. He served for 45 years as head chef at the friary at St. Bonaventure University and retired in 2007.
