NEW YORK — The Province’s Love at Work® DVD has won an award from the Public Relations Society of America’s Buffalo Niagara Chapter in Upstate New York.
Produced by Carr Marketing Communications, in collaboration with the Province’s Office of Development, the DVD won a Gold Excalibur Award in the internal video project category.
Robert Carr, president and co-founder of Carr Marketing, accepted the award on behalf of his agency on June 18 at an awards dinner in Buffalo. The Carr agency is currently producing a DVD for HNP’s Vocation Office.
The informational DVD was produced last year under the supervision of the late John Piccione, OFM, then Province director of development. It was shown to Holy Name friars at the 2008 Provincial Chapter.
The Province’s first-ever DVD has increased awareness of Holy Name’s diverse ministries, according to director of communications Jocelyn Thomas. The DVD has also been covered by the media and has drawn visitors to the HNP Web site, she said.
Love at Work was the subject of news articles reaching nearly 5 million people and accounting for 43 percent of total unique visitors to the Province’s Web site, added Carr.
The Excalibur Awards were created 20 years ago to honor outstanding public relations programs and projects by public relations professionals in the Buffalo, N.Y., area. This year’s submissions were judged by the Capital Region PRSA Chapter in Albany, N.Y.
The video can be viewed on the HNP Web site; since last July, it has been available on the Who We Are page of the Province’s site.
